Welcome to the "New Jersey and You - Perfect Together" class website. Here you will find information about class happenings and assignments. You will also find some fun stuff dealing with the great state of New Jersey, (the greatest state in the Union!). In class, we will discuss New Jersey History as well as New Jersey culture, music, food, sports, landmarks, myths and legends and all things that make New Jersey an interesting place to live. You may love it, you may hate it, but you have to admit... New Jersey IS unique. So have an open mind and have fun. See you in class.

Choose someone from New Jersey of importance, either from history or current, and write and deliver a 3-5 minute persuasive speech arguing for their induction into the soon to be built New Jersey Hall of Fame. Check out the website. You do not need choose one of the current nominees, but feel free to. Be sure to run your choice past me before you start. Each person may only be covered once, so let me know soon. It will be decided on a first come basis. My New Jersey, Your New Jersey, Our New Jersey - Project What Does New Jersey Mean To You? What is it that interests you most about New Jersey? What is it that you LOVE about the Garden State? Is it our brilliant vistas and views? Is it our amazing and important history? Is it our delicious cuisine, our fine products, our natural resources? Is it our great surfing or skiing? Do you like our Music, Movies, Art? Is it our creative use of the English language? (Freakin’ A). OK OK… I know, you all may not like it like I do, but you have to admit, New Jersey is unique. So, I want you to explore this uniqueness through a project. Pick something about New Jersey (culture, history, etc…) that interests you and create a presentation for the class about it. This will be an important grade for this class, so please take it seriously. Your Presentations should include a visual presentation of some sort. It should be informative, realistic and appropriate. It should be fun. The purpose of this class and of this project is for you and the rest of the class to learn something new about the state we live in. Please run your topic ideas and how you plan on presenting, by me before you start. We will schedule when you will present in advance so we can work a few presentations in per week. Have Fun! Due Friday February 29th (wow, that date only happens once every 4 years!) What’s up with NJ History Research some interesting happenings in New Jersey History. Write a 250 word explanation of this event and why it is important. Try to pick something that you would maybe like to know more about.
