Lakers Roster for 2005

Congratulations and Farewell to our 2005 Graduates

We want to wish these players a fond farewell and say thank you for your hard work and devotion over the years. These three players epitomize what coaches look for in a player. From the moment they stepped on the field, to the moment they walked off, they played hard.

Jason Pattis- His quiet leadership was certainly evident this season. Starting off his Lakers career as a catcher, he eventually moved to Centerfield and sometimes pitcher. When Jason is involved in a play, you are always confident that something good will happen. Jason's solid defense, powerful bat and strong influence on the younger players will be greatly missed.

Tommy Reeves- One of the most pleasant players off the field and most intimidating on the field, Tommy is a natural born leader. Although his career with the Lakers was full of injuries, the time he spent with the team, did not go unnoticed. Always coming up with a clutch hit or a big pitching performance, Tommy earned great respect from his fellow players and his coaches.

Mike Sala- Cut face, broken tooth, chugging down the baseline, these are the images that stick with you when thinking of Mike. Always working hard, always sacrificing for his team, Mike is a truly selfless player. He was a solid second baseman in his three years with the Lakers. His solid hitting and steady fielding will be missed.

Congratulations and Farewell to our 2006 Graduates

It is with pride and sadness that we say goodbye to the players of 2006. These players were exactly why coaches like to coach. Good luck to you in the future.

Danny Nestman - Tenacious D. leaves us, but we'll never forget him. With his flaming red hair blazing across the outfield and his fantastic base running skills, he will be missed. Danny may have been quiet, but was a quality ball player, and a fine person.

James Del Grecco - James was such a powerful hitter. When he connected, you could hear the pop off of his bat. His fiery personality was just what we needed during some tough games. We wish James the best of luck.

Tommy Rogers - Tommy leaves the Lakers a year early, and he'll be missed. We all remember his raw talent. No one had a better work ethic than Tommy. He was a fine pitcher and a fielder that we were always confident in.

Kevin Scheetz - Another player leaving us early, although he was on the team for three years. Kevin is the Iron Man. He seemed to have pitched 1000 innings for us over the years. Sheetzie was intimidating. At any time, he could blast the ball into the outfield, and when he was on the mound, could blow away any hitter.

Tenacious D on the Mound!

Congratulations and Farewell to our 2007 Graduates

We want to wish these players a fond farewell and say thank you for your hard work and devotion over the years. These three players epitomize what coaches look for in a player. From the moment they stepped on the field, to the moment they walked off, they played hard.

Mike Abasto - A coach can always be confident with "Stonewall" behind the plate. He is a strong and confident player. His smarts and great skills were his strengths. Mike has a mind like a manager, he understands his team and demands respect from his fellow players. We will miss his big hits and huge sense of humor. It has been a pleasure knowing him for these past two years.

Mike Roselini - Mike has been with the Lakers for four years. He was a solid catcher and became a great outfielder. You can always count on Mike for the big hit. He was also one of the most coachable players. Mike is a team player, always doing what's best for his teammates. He came the field and played hard every day. Aside from his great play, Mike is one of the nicest kids you'll ever know.

Steven Osvold - Steve-O, Ozzie, whatever you call him, you will be impressed. Steve was a solid pitcher and infielder. But he made his greatest impression with the bat. Always getting the big hit and always giving fear to opposing pitchers. Steve was with the Lakers for four years. He has a quiet demeanor and a calm confidence that made him a wonderful mentor for the younger players. And, I still owe him a steak dinner!

Good Luck to you all, in baseball and in life!

2008 Lakers (Champions)

CHAMPS!!!!

2008 CHAMPIONS of  RT Babe Ruth Baseball

The Lakers Finished the regular season 13-3

And went 4-0 in the Postseason

FIRST PLACE!!!!

Going back to the tough loss in 2007 against the Giants in the Championships, I am so proud of how hard you worked to accomplish the goal of being this years champions.

In this series, we saw GREAT defense, pitching, and obviously, timely hitting. You battled back from being down 6-1. We were literally one strike away from going to a game 3, and you all stepped right up, never gave up and fought off a very good team. The Giants are an exceptionally good team, and you should be proud of the fact that we beat them 4 out of 4 times this season, including 2 shutouts. With some great at bats, including 3 hits in that final inning we roared back and defeated them to take the Championships. Mike's pitching was clutch and the depth of our team was our strength. You earned this win, and you deserve it!

This Season. It started on a freezing cold day back in March with our first practice. We knew from that day, that we had a great team. Not just that you would win a lot of games, but that you were nice kids with good heads on your shoulders. We played some tough games and had a few tough losses. But, we had a lot of wins too. Regardless of wins and losses, I hope you all had a fun time. After all, its baseball. We are here to learn this great game and to have fun. I am already looking forward to next season to defend our title.

The coaches want to thank the parents for their unwavering support. I am proud when I look at our bench and see so many faces. Not every team can say that. You have been supportive when we win and when we lose. Thank you for everything.

Finally, it is especially hard to say goodbye to this years graduates.

  • C.J. A.

  • Mike A.

  • Jackson B.

  • Greg C.

2008 Graduates

Zack D'urso - Although quiet and down to earth, Zack has made a great impact on the Lakers over the years. The players have a great deal of respect for Zack and so do his coaches. He is a fantastic player to have on any team. We look forward to his progress in the future.

Matt Hulbert - The finest centerfielder in the league with a powerful bat. Matty, with his incredible enthusiasm and team spirit, will most certainly be missed. His leadership has not gone unnoticed and will be difficult to replace. We expect great things from Matt.

C.J. Abrahamsen - CJ always seems to make things happen. When he is on base, he is always doing something big. CJ is a stellar pitcher with a strong bat, few players are more fun to watch. Aside from this, he is one of the most personable players we have ever had.

Spencer Severson - One of the most likable and memorable kids ever to pass through the Lakers. As many people have noted, Spencer is the outfielder who reads the ball better than anyone and always seems to be in the middle of every big rally.

2009 Lakers

The Lakers Finished 15-1

First Place!

What a GREAT season, Lakers. We are so proud of how hard you worked this season. What a way to finish off the regular season. We saw so many good things this year, but what we are most impressed with is how you worked as a team and how you played every inning tough.

We can't even begin to tell you how proud we are of this team. Although we didn't bring home the trophy, this team should be incredibly proud of themselves for the high level of play as well as maturity and professionalism that they brought to the field every day. Every game was played hard and respectable. We had fun, which is the most important thing, and we learned a lot from each other.

2009 Graduates

This year, it is especially hard to say goodbye to the graduates. Not only is there a wealth of baseball talent leaving our team this year, but these are five of the nicest and hardest working players ever to play in this league. We wish you all the best of luck in your futures, baseball and otherwise.

Jackson Baird - Jackson is one of the most talented baseball players we have had on our team. But, he is also one of the hardest working. It has been a joy watching Jackson grow as a player. His baseball instincts are excellent. We'll miss his bat, his glove and his smart base running. Not to mention, Jackson has been a lights-out pitcher. The team will miss his leadership and his great personality.

Nick DiVite - We are really going to miss Nicky's glove at first base. When a ball is thrown to him, you can relax knowing that he will gobble it up no matter where its thrown. Aside from that, Nicky has been a stellar pitcher for the Lakers. We will miss his awesome base running and clutch hitting. Nicky is also one of the toughest and most respected kids on the team. We will certainly miss him.

Adam Halpern - AKA "Sleeping Ugly". No one can get the team pumped up like Adam can. No one can remind the players how much fun this game of baseball is like Adam can. Nobody enjoyed themselves as much as this kid did. We will miss his positive attitude, great glove and we will certainly miss him setting the table at the top of the batting order.

David Navon - AKA "Crazy Legs", AKA "11", One of the fastest players to come though this league, David is always a threat on the base paths. He specializes in driving pitchers and catchers crazy. David came to our team with big hair and blazing speed and we knew we had a talented kid. We will miss his steady glove and great attitude.

Mike Stango - (AKA Nickname: Classified) The Lakers will miss this guy for his ability to be great at every spot he's put in. He is a superb fielder, a superb base runner and one of the most clutch hitters this team has seen. And that not even mentioning his pitching. Aside from this, Mike is one of the most respectful and good natured kids you'll ever meet. The Lakers will miss his quiet leadership and solid play.
